Well it is here, the 2016 Miss Gay Arizona America season. It genuinely feels like yesterday I had heard my name called in the theater as the newly crowned 2015 Miss Gay Arizona America. A lot has happened since then, and now we are here. I celebrated the "Miss Gay Tucson Weekend" at IBT's with the Incomparable Miss Janee Starr, who hosted the "Miss Gay Tucson America revue" with Former Miss Gay Tucson's Bunny Fu Fu, Tori Steele, DIVA. It was such a pleasure to be around such rich history and I can't thank Janee and the staff & management for inviting me to be a part of such an unforgettable night. On January 10th we held the 31st Miss Gay Tucson America Pageant at IBT's, honoring Miss Gay Tucson America, Bianca Soleil. We had 6 incredible contestants compete in the 5 categories of competition: Male Interview, Solo Talent, Talent, Evening Gown & On Stage Interview.
I can not even begin to tell you how impressed I was with each contestant, from the start of interview to the moment of crowning, I was totally blown away. Nadi Nature, Demi LaRaye, Tempest DuJour, Zoe, Alonna Dee and Holli Sinclair gave this pageant their all and I couldn't be more proud of each of them. The Miss Gay Tucson America Pageant contestants had certainly set the standard for the rest of the preliminaries and they set it very high! Although, I would have been elated to have all the contestants compete at Miss Gay Arizona America, only 2 can qualify for the "Big Dance" and the lovely Tempest DuJour capture the title of being the 31st Miss Gay Tucson America and with him on their way to Miss Gay Arizona, is 1st alternate Demi LaRaye. I couldn't be more happy and proud to have these two set the bar for the preliminary competition!
To all the contestants: I am still madly in love with all you brought this year to MGTA, PLEASE don't let this dream end here, if the title and legacy is what you want, it'll happen, you just genuinely have to believe! "You can hear a million 'No's' but all you need is one 'yes'..."
To the Promoters of Miss Gay Tucson: DIVA, Ricky Harrison, Thomas De La Cerda, Thank you for all of your hospitality the weekend of Miss Gay Tucson. We have all known and supported each other for years, but I've never seen such love and humility for people, like you three have shown me throughout my reign and your contestants! You put on such an exceptional contest, and I couldn't think of a better way to kick off this season than working with you three.
To Miss Gay Tucson America '15 Bianca Soleil : Your dedication to the America system has always been something I've admired. I am beyond proud of your philanthropy during your reign for your community. Whenever you decide to step back into the system, just now you will always have a place and family here! Congratulations FOREVER Miss Gay Tucson America.
To EVERYONE involved in the Pageant/Miss Gay Tucson Weekend: Miss Gay Arizona America Promoter Daniel Eckstrom, Tio Nick Ray, Orion Steele, Kriss Dekay, Raul St. James, Lady Ashley, Kayla Krawford, Victor Stubbs, Ronnie Barlow, Vanessa Soto, Anthony Van Dao, Ricky McDonald, Janee Starr, Bunny Fu Fu, Tori Steele, Tyra Marie, Staff and Management of IBT's, the Bunny Boys, the MGTA Judges Panel, Audience Members, Supporters, Anyone who even took a glance at the posters throughout the bar! THANK YOU so much for making my first Preliminary such a breeze. I was truly overwhelmed with emotions when heading home and had to catch my breath at moments knowing that it was truly an incredible evening, but also the start of the end of reign. I can not thank Tucson and the amazing community for always welcoming me with such open arms and for always making me feel special and loved. I know I don't make it down there often enough, how sweet it feels when I do.
