Happy May everyone! I cannot believe this is my 2nd to last newsletter. First I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to all of the parents out there! I wish you all the happiest of days on May 10th.
This past month we had the final 2 prelims to Miss Gay Arizona America 2015. Congrats to the newly crowned Miss Gay Queen of the Desert America, Lady Christian! LC and her 1st alternate Jessica Michaels were our 7th and 8th contestants to join. I want to say good job to Tc Taylor and Big Booty Judy for putting on another successful prelim, it is hard enough having one, but you two have two! Janee Starr, you were a wonderful Miss Queen of the Desert America. I salute you on your reign and I thank you for the friendship we developed over the last year. The 5th and final prelim, Miss Gay Cosmopolitan America also happened last month and Lady Ashley sweep the pageant and took the title of Miss Gay Cosmopolitan America 2015. Lady Ashley and her first alt, Kadence McKenzie are the final 2 contestants to round out our top 10! I am proud of the finale 4 that have qualified and look forward to seeing what each will bring at MGAA 15. Also, a huge congrats to the Boom Boom Boys, JP and Sherman. You 2 pulled it off and I am proud of you both for seeing it through. Masquerade, you were a wonderful title holder and I look forward to seeing you next year at MGAA 16.
There is so much going on in May and I am very excited about all of it! May 3rd I will be attending Barbra Seville’s 4thannual Salsa Challenge at Karambas. I will also be entering a salsa and have challenged all title holder in Arizona to see who has the best salsa. The fun starts at 3pm and all of the money raised goes to the Phoenix Pride Scholarship Fund. This is a fun time and I encourage all of you to attend!
Sunday May 9th I will be in Tucson for the annual Jell-O wrestling fundraiser, no, I am not wrestling. This will be the first time I have attended this event and I am very much looking forward to it! I want to thank my big sister, Lucinda Holiday, for inviting me to participate. I hope I will get to see ALL of my Tucson friends and America family!
The Weekend of May 15th, I have the honor of traveling back to the east coast. I will be performing and representing Arizona, as Miss Gay Arizona America, at both Miss Gay Eastern States and Miss Gay Maryland America. It is an incredible honor to be asked to represent my title and come to each pageant to perform. I want to thank Eric Gabbard, promoter for Miss Gay Northeast America, and Alondra Sanchez, Miss Gay Maryland America for inviting me. I greatly appreciate the opportunity and honor to attend both. When you are a state titleholder it is an honor to be asked to represent your title at other prelims across the country and I thank you both for not only your continued support but also your friendship.
Don’t forget, Memorial day is coming at the end of the month. It’s a federal holiday so almost all of us will have Monday, May 25th off from work. It will be an America review show, hosted by my sister TC Taylor, and performances by Tyra Marie, Mya McKenzie, and of course me! It will be a fun time, a good show, great drinks, and good food. Come by and say hi to all of us, we would love to see you there!
The last day of the month will be one of my busiest days yet. On Sunday, May 31st I will start the day by having brunch with all 10 qualified contestants for Miss Gay Arizona America 2015. I look forward to seeing all of them in the room and I am excited about going over the pageant. The contestant will be presented the theme of Miss Gay Arizona America 2015, as well as picking there contestant numbers and finding out who, or what, they have to be for the opening number. I look forward to this event as it will be a fun, laid back morning to hang out with the contestants. Later that day, I will be making a quick appearance to perform at the Mr. and Miss. West Coast Continental pageant. This will be happening at BS West This event starts at 6pm and I am honored to have been asked by my friend, Jace Kempton, to perform at his stepdown. It will be a fun night, congrats on your reign Jace, and I look forward to seeing you there and getting the chance to meet and perform with the current Miss Continental, Brooke Lynn Hytes! But, wait!
