Hello loves and welcome to Septembers Edition of Grecias Gazette. August was a busy month for me with lots of events and the continuing preparation for nationals. This past month we had the 1st Annual Trading Faces show. A benefit to help me in my expenses for Nationals and what an AMAZING time it was. Tc Taylor, Tyra Marie, Phaedra, and Celia Putty all took to the stage to impersonate each other and other former Miss Arizona Americas. They each impersonated each others make-up, outfits, and signature on stage moves. It was such a fun and entertaining show and an amazing concept that will just get bigger and bigger and I cannot wait till next year’s show when I will get to impersonate some of my sisters. If you missed this year’s then it’s something you definitely want to see next year. Thank you to my sisters and everyone who came and supported.
Also this month Savannah and I went down to Tucson for a fundraiser put on by Vivika D’Angelo at Brodie’s. It was a wonderful time with a great cast of entertainers and a wonderful crowd who were into the show. Savannah and I split all of the tips to help us both on out journey to Miss Gay America.
I have had a lot of people tell me that they believe in me and want to know how they can help me in my journey to Miss Gay America. I have said and will continue to say that just coming out to the shows, giving me encouragement, and supporting me emotionally is really important to me, but some people wanted more. They wanted to know how they can support me and my dream, how they can help financially, as we all know this dream and journey is a very expensive one. So since I decided I am going to Miss Gay America to not only just represent, or for the exposure or to gain experience, which is all very important, but I am going to WIN. I am going to make not only myself but all of you proud of not only me, but proud of Arizona and the America system we have here. Many people just want to be a state titleholder and nothing beyond that and for them that is great, but I have a bigger goal in mind. I set my mind to becoming Miss Gay Arizona America on my first attempt and I accomplished it, now I have set my mind on becoming Miss Gay America 2015. I believe I can do it and I hope you do as well. With that being said and to find a way so that my friends and family both here and out of state can help me in this, I have set up a GoFundMe account online. The link is WWW.gofundme.com/dqy7d4 any and all amounts no matter the size will be greatly appreciated. My will power combined with your financial assistance I know in my heart that I have what it take to bring the prestigious Miss Gay America crown home to Arizona.
Speaking of my dreams, passion, and desire I have had the opportunity to speak with some entertainers who are interested in competing in the America system this year for the very first time. To see the same passion in their eyes and hear it their voices that I have not only excites me, but motivates me to be the best Miss Gay Arizona America I can possible be. When I won Miss Arizona this year I knew that I had the opportunity and responsibility to be a role model for new entertainers and entertainers who have never ran in the America system. I encourage every new potential contestant to go after their dream, no matter what it is. I believe that in order for any pageantry system to grow and continue on that we must encourage the newbies. Guide them and give them solid advice, not make fun of or point out the shortcomings they may have. Be a leader, a role model, someone for them to look up to, not someone for them to be shamed by. This has been my goal since winning and will continue to be a goal of mine. I hope and ask that all of my sisters and fellow established entertainers to do the same. And to all of the new entertainers with stars in your eyes and dreams in your heart I say to you never give up. Never let anyone hold you back, and never let someone else decide your future and your dreams. If you want it and believe in yourself you will achieve it.
