Hello My Loves and welcome to the first edition of Grecia's Gazette. First let me say I am still in shock and awe that I am the new Miss Gay Arizona America. It was a dream of mine that I never expected would happen so quickly. I am honored and feel privileged to be apart of a select sisterhood and look forward to carrying on the rich legacy of the Miss Gay Arizona America title.
I have so many people to thank and acknowledge. Daniel, I look forward to our year together and creating magical memories to last a life time. Tyra Marie, you were the one who opened my eyes to the America system and encouraged me to become a member of it, thank you for believing in me. To Todd and Gabriel, my first promoters in the system, thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication to me, you will always be my first (promoters). Savannah we started this journey together at Miss Phoenix and it seems we were destined to be by each others side till the journeys end. I have enjoyed working both with you and together as a team. We will always be #TeamPhoenix all the way to MGA15. I look forward to our many adventures ahead. The judges, especially Charity Case, thank you for believing in me and seeing my vision come alive on the stage. I take your valuable feedback and will continue to grow from it. My new sisters, the former Miss Gay Arizonas, especially the ones that have personally reached out to me and expressed a warm loving welcome to the family, thank you, I promise I will make you proud of me. To the numerous sponsors who believed in not only me, but all of the contestants I sincerely say Thank You. All of my friends and family without your support there would be no Grecia, you are all my rock. Josh, my husband, even though we may bump heads along the way I would not want anyone else but you by my side. I love you. To all of this years contestants, it was a pleasure getting to know those I didn’t, becoming closer to those I do know, and experiencing this journey with each and every one of you. I look forward to seeing all of you at next years prelims and look forward to making your step-downs and hopeful crownings as successful as can be.
I have many things I would like to achieve over this next year during my reign. I, of course would like to use the title to give back to my community. I have several ideas in the works and once things are finalized I will share with each of you and ask for your support and help in my…our….giveback campaign. I would also like to continue the growth of the system here in Arizona. We have 5 great prelims with wonderful promoters. I would like to see all of the current promoters return and possible add more to the family and hopefully have a 6th prelim. Being married to someone who is a Promoter in another system, I have the advantage of seeing both sides of a pageant and how much hard work, dedication, and money it takes to have a successful prelim. That is why I want to meet with all existing preliminary promoters and talk. See how each of them feels, hear what changes we can make to become better, and what things we all feel are doing great. Promoters are the lifeblood of any system and its one of my highest priorities that we keep the ones we have and find new ones who can contribute to the growth of our family. I would like to have input on the criteria of the judges panel and what exact qualities each person who judges in the America system here in Arizona should and should not have. I would also like to promote to the new girls, as new contestants are essential to the continuation of any pageant. I want these potential contestants to know that you don’t have to “pay your dues“ or “wait your turn“ to win a title. All they need is passion, determination and be willing to put in the hard work it takes to win. Look at me, only myself and TC Taylor belong to a special club. We are the only Miss Arizonas to be 1st alternates who won the title on the first attempt. I would like to see our club grow and welcome any new contestant into the America system with open arms!
I have a long road ahead of me over these next 12 months. I will be focusing on MGA 15 in October, as well as being the absolute best Symbol of Excellence that I can possible be here in Arizona, in addition to making my mark and leaving a legacy that not only I, but all of you, will be proud of. I look forward to the work ahead and hope that you will join me on this beautiful journey.
