Hello MGAA Fans & Supporters-
I am so excited to write my first promoters blog. This page was created to continue the celebration of the Miss Gay Arizona America system and to hear from the promoter, prelim promoters, formers and supporters of the MGAA system.
This year has started off and I cannot believe that we are already half way to Miss Gay Arizona America 2015! The year started off with the crowning of the 30th Miss Gay Tucson America Bianca Solei. I have been able to watch Bianca through the years and was so happy last year when he placed in the Top 5 but was even happier when he was crowned Miss Gay Tucson America 2015! Every year I am in amazement to see these prelim winners achieve their goal and represent their community with grace and excellence and I know Bianca will do just that. That night I was able to see two new contestants grace the stage at Miss Gay Tucson America, Loren D and Jessica Michaels. Miss Gay Arizona America is an incredibly tough but rewarding system. I get so much joy seeing new contestants compete at these preliminaries because it shows that they believe in something much more than a crown, they believe in a legacy. Loren was lucky enough to place 1st alternate and get his spot to Miss Gay Arizona America. I see a lot of potential and growth in Loren and know that his craft will only get better with the experiences he gains this year! Congratulations to Diva (Agent 12), Thomas and Ricky for putting on another amazing pageant. Folks can understand why these individuals were named 2014 Promoters of the Year, they leave no detail unturned. Thank you to the staff and management of IBTs for allowing us to be there! Special shout out to Ricky McDonald, Daniel Molina and Mikey Segura for all your help!
From Miss Gay Tucson America we traveled to Miss Gay Copper City America. This pageant has a rich history in the MGAA system. That night we had 3 great contestants- Savannah Stevens, Jimena Cavali and Jessica Michaels. That night Savannah Stevens was crowned and Jimena Cavali placed 1st alternate. Savannah has her stepdown from Miss Gay Phoenix America at the end of the month, which promises to be an amazing event. I am so excited to see Jimena come back into the competition circuit. The place time Jimena competed, she placed in the Top 5, so I am expecting some pretty exciting things from her this year. Jessica Michaels is really a class act. I am so proud that she is taking those judges critiques and really perfecting her art form and striving to become better every time she is on stage. I guarantee we have not seen the last of Jessica and I am so happy to see someone reach for their goals and not let anyone tell them they can’t do it! Thank you to The Rock for hosting this event and for being an amazing part of the community and for being a big supporter of this entertainment. A HUGE thank you to Joey Saputo (BBJ) and TC Taylor (Agent 009) for promoting this contest! You both are such huge support systems for me and are such role models within this system…thank you for what you do!
Grecia Montes D’Occa- we only have 3 more prelims left! I truly hope you are enjoying your reign and the experiences that come along with it. Congrats on completing your first 2 prelims!!! HERE WE GO!
In closing I would like to congratulate the following winners from other systems across the state. In order for Arizona to continue to be great, we must all work together to show the country why Arizona is a force within the illusion community!
